USA M10 Unpainted Metal 1/16 Scale Tank Destroyer - RTR from Mato - MAT1210-001
The M10 Tank Destroyer was a versatile and widely used American armored vehicle during World War II. Designed to counter heavily armored German tanks, it combined mobility, firepower, and ease of production. The M10 was built on the M4 Sherman chassis and was armed with a powerful 3-inch (76.2 mm) M7 gun, capable of penetrating the armor of most German tanks when properly employed.
The M10 featured a lightly armored, open-topped turret, prioritizing weight reduction and cost-efficiency. While this design improved visibility and allowed for rapid reloading, it left the crew vulnerable to small arms fire and artillery shrapnel. The vehicle's sloped armor offered some protection but was insufficient against direct hits from high-caliber weapons. Powered by a 375-horsepower General Motors diesel engine, the M10 had a top speed of around 30 mph (48 km/h), making it more mobile than many of its counterparts. Deployed in Europe, North Africa, and the Pacific, the M10 often relied on speed and flanking maneuvers to engage enemy tanks effectively. Although the M10 was highly valued for its adaptability and firepower, it was eventually replaced by more advanced tank destroyers like the M36 Jackson.
